Rides at Sky Harbor are Changing
We have reviewed our options at Sky Harbor and believe we are obligated to prevent the unfair penalization of our drivers and riders. Because of this, we have made the difficult decision to cease service at Sky Harbor. This will go into effect the day before the fee increase is implemented (currently scheduled for January 17, 2020).
We worked hard to advocate on behalf of our rider and driver community, which is why we were hopeful we could negotiate a fair and equitable outcome to the airport's budgetary shortfalls. However, the Airport's leadership has been opposed to our solutions, going so far as to reject the very fee recommendations presented in a study they had commissioned. When the fee did not align with the current budgetary shortfalls for the sky-train construction, the airport simply changed course.
To protect our drivers, passengers, and business from the impact the proposed fee would have, we've come to this unfortunate conclusion of ending operations at the airport. Please be on the lookout for additional updates on how to comply with this operational change.
Thank you for driving with Lyft.
